PostSubject: The Autumnal promenade.... begins~   The Autumnal promenade.... begins~ I_icon_minitimeFri Sep 24, 2010 1:11 pm

Hearing the ruckus of impatient people outside of the castle, a few guards stood by the door, discussing random stuff. As the voices outside got louder, a small motion moved through the shadows. As the guards got into the guards quarters and left the defense of the castle behind them, an invisible force pulled the grand doors open. As the doors flew open, a group of people was seen standing infront of the castle. Having ordered his lackey's to illuminate a path from the front door, through the hall into the ballroom so no one would be able of getting lost in the castle. Once they would enter the ballroom, the guests would encounter a feast of royal proportions.

In the center of the room, the tables where cleared to make room for a large amount of emptry space in wich people could dance if they wanted to do so. On the right side of the room, there was a large amount of snacks for people who didnt want to sit down by a table to eat, and could just pick some up from the table. Among these snacks are alot of very expensive kinds of food wich where only obtainable for dinner if you where either a king or high ranking royalty. Among these snack are Macademia nuts, growing on trees wich only bear these nuts in there seventh year and require fertile ground and heavy rainfall. These nuts where spiced with saffron, a spice wich comes from the saffron crocus flower. To create a pound of this dried saffron, 50,000 to 70,000 saffron crocus flowers need to be harvested, wich would be enough to cover an entire foodball field, wich is alot of work just to create a pound of saffron. However, the taste of it made it worth while. A pound of this stuff is worth atleast 11,000 pieces of gold, wich is why it is one of the things wich are farmed at the royal gardens, aswell as the macademia trees. There are also some rather expensive chocolate truffels, made out of black truffel and Valrhona cacao.

For those who really want to have a feast apart from all the dancing and talking, there is a long dining table on the far end of the room, straight ahead when coming from the front door. The people on this table will be continuously served by the kings butlers and will be able of choosing two drinks, the expensive Kopi Luwak coffee, or the Tieguanyin thee. Once people get hungry, they can choose to eat Wagyu beef, wich is a very juicy and tasty beef wich according to legend, where made of cows who where fed beer and where massaged by human hands. The other type of beef that is served is Kobe beef, wich is made from male boars that where said to have grown over 50 years old, and where very hard to kill due to their though skin and sturdy teeth. Next to the two different types of beef, there was also Samundari Khazana. Devon crab and white truffle and a half tomato filled with Beluga caviar and dressed with gold leaf are just the start of this lavish dish. A Scottish lobster, also coated with gold, four abalone and four shelled and hollowed quails’ eggs filled with even more caviar round out the dish.

On the left side of the ballroom there was an open terras wich allowed one to look out over the kings large gardens. These gardens where one of the only things he actually cared alot about. The terras itself is covered with small tables and chairs made out of wood. This place was where people could meet and talk to eachother before they would dance, or eat. Being slightly bored, the king himself was laying flat on his back, staring at the ceiling in his room. "The Autumnal promenade has been opened... how lovely" Vergil said, being hessitant about making his grand entrance or not. As shadows seemed to crawl around in his room, it seemed as if they dissappeared into Vergil's own shadow. Closing his eyes, he chose to wait with his appearance untill most people would've been inside. Having put a large amount of money into this ball, he wanted people to have fun, and he wished that it would have been worth his money and that it wouldnt have been in vain.

"Everyone's invited? Really? Hmn.." Having heard rumors of a party the King was going to throw one night, Rodyn had made sure to make his travels back to Kriene to make it in time for this 'party'. Exactly what kind of party would the king throw? And would the king himself even show up, and be present during these festivities? These questions and more poured into Rodyn's head as he made his way to the castle.

He wasn't even sure if he was supposed to have an invitation of some sort, so he did the one and only logical thing he could think of.

While a group of guests were making their way through the main gate, Rodyn had slipped around to the sides, where the walls weren't being guarded at all. Reaching into his backpack, he pulled out a grappling hook, swung it around over his head, and launched it straight up towards the top of the wall, looking for something to hook it onto.

As he pulled down on it, the hook itself caught onto the edge of the castle, and he quickly climbed his way up to the top of the wall. As he reached the top, he rolled onto the wall, pulling up the hook with him. He crouched still for a while, making sure no one had seen or heard him. Satisfied after a moment or so, he got up, fixed himself up to look as proper as possible, and grappled his way down to the other side of the castle.

Cutting through bushes, trees, and other sorts of gardening accessories, he found himself behind the group of people that were making their way into the castle's main halls at that very moment. His attire wasn't anything too fancy; but his presence made him appear to be someone of a higher stature compared to his normal, traveled, read: homeless, look.

Spoiler:

Instead of his hair being a mess, however, he had it tied in a ponytail behind his head. He looked to fit in with the crowd he was following, making sure to keep distance enough that he didn't garner their attention, but not so far as to look as if he were not a part of them.

They walked and wound their way around the castle before they reached the main ballroom. He let out a low whistle as he broke away from the group, headed towards the nearest window to look outside.

Pretty nice view... Maybe this party won't be such a bad thing after all. If I'm lucky... Rodyn's mind drifted off to thoughts and plans he had, as he looked both out the window, and at people entering the ballroom.

Brielle was staring at her mirror. The vanity, which was made out of extremely expensive Agar-wood, was painted a glistening pale yellow. It was accented with beautiful yellow faux leaves and brown synthetic vines. Embossed on the drawers were maple fronds, painted an autumn red. The stool matched, made out of the same wood and painted the same shade. Even her hairbrush was new, though made of rosewood. Her violet eyes scanned her reflection, and behind her stood a servant who was carefully brushing her hair.

Brielle's soft golden hair was in romantic curls. They were soft and smelled like candy. The upper portion of her hair was braided and held back by a pure silver bobby pin. A single maple leaf carved out of thin marble was applied onto the pin, and was tinted brown, red, orange, and yellow. It was dyed so professionally it actually looked as though it was in a gradient form. Her bangs flew gently onto the sides of her face, curling softly at the tips.

Her face was picture perfect, supposedly. She didn't feel perfect that day as she had just gotten sick. She was definitely looking extremely pretty, however. You couldn't even notice that she had been puking the hour earlier before finally taking a few of her medicine pills. Her face was cleared of any imperfections. Face powder had been applied to give her a sort of natural glow. Her eyelashes were lengthened by the magic of make up. Her lips were tinted a light shade of red, almost pink yet somehow scarlet at the same time. Her cheeks were crimson, hiding the paleness that lay behind them. She looked like a work of art, and as she closed her eyelids, you could see the gradient like technique used to color her skin. Orange turning to red, turning to yellow, turning to brown, had been applied onto her eyelids. Small rubies were turned into face gems and were carefully dotted onto her face.

She was feeling stuffed as the corset was being tied. It was extremely tight, a piece of clothing she dreaded wearing. She had become so ill because of this simple piece of garment. Yet, she had been forced to wear it due to the royalty up-comings and parties that were to be celebrated. This one was a pale yellow with orange strings to tie it back. She felt suffocated as her waistline was lowered. A long petticoat had been slipped on. It was layered, making it extremely pouffy. The pale brown material of the crinoline was supposed to make her itch but due to her not feeling as good as she should, the feeling was rather numb.

The gown she was to wear was lying on her bed. She had to get up on a stool just to be helped to put it on. It was long, extremely long, and she had to slip into brown lace up boots with orange accents onto it before she could put the gown on. The extra two inches given by the shoes had helped. The gown was custom made and had been sent her by her parents just for the occasion. It looked extremely expensive, and it was. The first layer was made of the most expensive soft silk one could find. It had been dyed an extremely light brown. The second layer was shorter than the first layer. It was dyed yellow. The third layer was only a skirt, dyed red and brown. They looked like giant leaves over her gown, circling the whole lower part of her body. A red ribbon was tied around her waist to hold the third layer in place.

As for accessories, they had been imported as well. A maple leaf necklace was formed with pure dark brown velvet as the chain and a leaf made out of fused topaz and ruby. The pendent was secured tightly onto the fabric. It choked her neck as it was a chocker. A similar bracelet was made except this one was studded with small maple leafs alternating in rubies and topazes. A ring was worn on her ring finger, the band was gold and the jewel matched her necklace though it wasn't so big.

She was a stunner and was drop dead gorgeous. Even the servant took a few moments to stare at Brielle after Brielle had dismissed her. Brielle admired herself in the mirror, praising the somehow godlike beauty she had acquired. She was hopeful this time, but she threw the letter her step-mother had sent her into the trash.

Perhaps you'll find your prince here.

The now crumpled sheet of paper wrote, as she walked out of her bedroom. She walked slowly to the ballroom, taking a deep breath as she joined the others. Some had gasped as they saw the infanta enter the room.

a golden cup
and a toast to the kings

Distant voices became louder and louder as her footsteps drew closer to the Castle, stopping outside the gates. There were so many people, and so much noise, but this was expected. The King, technically her cousin, was throwing a party of sorts to celebrate the changing of the seasons, or so he had said. And the reason there were so many people was simple – he had invited everyone who felt like attending. She was a nervous wreck, to say the least. Cadence was not good with conversing with people, especially strangers. And of what she could see so far, everyone was unfamiliar. Due to her secluded life, not many would recognize her either. She was contemplating whether or not this fact was a good thing for this event.

Carefully, she walked through the gates, and followed the path. There were crowds of people outside already, even when the ball had just started. She desperately looked around, trying to find a clear path to sneak past everyone, and actually enter the castle. Before she could take another step forward, a hand found her back, and she nearly jumped a mile high. It was her mother and father, checking up on her already. Cadence went from gasping, to sighing in relief. She was abnormally paranoid tonight, and even she wasn’t sure exactly why. Her hands met their opposite arms, an attempt to warm them. It was approaching autumn after all – she should have expected the temperature change. Her mother pulled out a shawl from her purse, handing it to Cadence with a warm smile. The smile returned as Cadence wrapped the extra attire around her arms. Oh, what would she do without her mother?

They walked in together this time, following the path straight to the door. This went a lot more smoothly than Cadence had originally thought, but she was certainly glad. Now, getting a good look at the decorations, she could feel the theme fully. There were pigments of orange, red, yellow, and tan all around the room, making the room seem warmer than it actually was. But she knew with as much chatter as there was already, the room would fill up with hot air soon. Maybe she wouldn’t need the shawl after all, but it was a nice gesture of her mother – she was always thinking of her frail daughter. Her father patted her on the back, before both her parents parted ways. She knew the routine. They would find a noble family they knew, talk of memorable events, find a table, and have a few drinks, occasionally dragging each other out to the dance floor. It was the same every time.

Cadence walked around for awhile, hiding behind decorations or other people, every chance she got. Even though time had passed since she was at the Castle, she was still the shy little girl she was then. Her most noticeable feature to anyone who might have known her would be her height – she had actually managed to grow a few inches. Her body was more developed now, but still wasn’t full. This made finding a dress a bit difficult for her, but she prevailed. It was better described as a gown, reaching all the way to the ground. The color was that of a dark red, with floral and vine designs down the front, from top to bottom. Matching earrings draped from her ears, with a beautiful necklace hanging from her neck. This lovely gown was strapless, and extremely tight around the top, which was good for her due to her lack of anything to hold it up otherwise. Her heels were moderate, not high enough for her to stumble like crazy. And her hair was actually held up, in a bun. Cadence only did this on special occasions, and apparently this was one of those occasions.

As she glanced around at all the elegant people surrounding her, she felt rather inferior. There were plenty of beautiful young women, even her age, but with much more bust. This made her feel even more insecure, so she decided to look around for fellow noble family members. Her feet carried her to a surprisingly lone table, and she took a seat. She barely recognized anyone, so she couldn’t even tell who was who. It had definitely been awhile since she had attended such a public event…

The Autumnal promenade.... begins~ Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Autumnal promenade.... begins~   The Autumnal promenade.... begins~ I_icon_minitimeSun Sep 26, 2010 1:11 am

Earlier in the day, after shopping and general fooling around the city, with her constant shadow of guards, Ariel was traveling down a street, soon to leave the city, when she noticed a flier on a wall. Of course this was a message that most had gotten weeks ahead of time, but Ariel was never that lucky. The flier was announcing a huge party, a ball of sorts, in reverence of Autumn. For elves, Autumn was a more somber time, because plants typically had their peak, then started dying around this time. Though the cycle of life would have these plants reborn, it was still a time that didn't call for much celebration. These cultures weren't observed by Ariel any more, so she figured that observing a party for humans wouldn't hurt anyone. The only problem was, she had no clothes that fit a human party. Her elvish formal attire was not something that deserved to be flaunted in front of humans, and her traveling clothes were too informal for such a gathering. The problem required some thought, so Ariel sat down.

Gold was never really a problem for Ariel, as the number of bandits that attacked her was rather above average, and one had recently attacked her a week before her venture into the city. Using that money, she traveled through a few shops, admiring the works of the tailors. One used all sorts of expensive threads and employed many seamstresses, but their works were sloppily done, and the dresses seemed too fancy for one with good tastes. One of the other shops was run by a very old lady who employed only her daughter and two others. They worked extremely hard on every dress, and those that Ariel saw were works of art for human creation. Her favorite was a simple orange dress that fit her perfectly, allowing her seamless movement while retaining a beauty and grace that made Ariel happy.

She quickly handed over the money that the old lady asked for with quite a bit extra as a gift of admiration for her work. She seemed awestruck by this type of generosity, but was full of gratitude nonetheless.

. . .

When the time for the ball arrived, Ariel had made one quick addition to the dress. Though she hated messing with the art that she had bought from the old woman, she felt the need to add a small mark of her own on the right shoulder. Using a brown color, matching the Autumn theme and her burnt orange dress, Ariel added a small elvish symbol with some surrounding designs to make it blend with the rest of the dress. The symbol for peace was inscribed into that shoulder, and to Ariel, the piece was complete. Ariel's hair was clean and brushed through. Her face never needed makeup, no elven woman's did, because her complexion was already flawless. To complete her look, her most precious item, the Ice Diamond hung around her neck with a silver chain, enforced with her magical energy keeping it securely placed around her neck.

The crowds of humans made it easy to go unnoticed while outside, so Ariel stayed with them, making sure to blend in whenever possible and hide herself from unwanted attention. Some of those near her stopped and stared, but she ignored them, making sure to keep pace and get into the ball without such an event. The decorations were lavish outside, only the imagination limited what the king placed inside. Autumn was in the air, as the wind rustled through everyone in the crowd. It was only very slightly chilly, but the humans held their hair, threw on shawls and other things trying to defend themselves from the thing that made Ariel feel most comfortable. Ariel spread out her hands and let the wind trail around her body, rustling her dress and hair in a non-violent, almost embrace-like pattern. She smiled quietly and entered behind the chattering humans.

Inside was amazing. All the foods, the huge tables, the hundreds of people. Everything seemed to be moving. It was a fun situation. Though most of the people didn't notice her entrance, a few human men spotted her and let their mouths hang open for a few seconds before recovering. Ariel noticed them starting towards her, so she waited until they met the crowd and started fighting through it before she disappeared with a quick step, and a few graceful moves that could almost be considered dancing.

It was then that she saw the girl she met earlier. The small girl was wearing a beautiful dress herself and seemed a little bit more out of her element than she did during their meeting at the fountain. But overall, she was very pretty. The movement around her continued, but Ariel moved to the side of the girl and gently touched her shoulder."This is quite a party." With only that one sentence Ariel did a quick curtsy and disappeared once again into the crowd until she found a quiet spot to sit and observe the endless movement to the music in the room.

This sort of thing reminded her so much of her home, and brought back memories of dancing with Darius at many elven parties. These thoughts provoked a small tear, which quickly was wiped to the side as she continued watching the merry humans.

The Autumnal promenade.... begins~ Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Autumnal promenade.... begins~   The Autumnal promenade.... begins~ I_icon_minitimeSun Sep 26, 2010 5:59 am

[Whisper, since we're technically both Infantas, does that make us related? xD]

Brielle had the flutters in her stomach. She was looking around, checking to see if her parents had attended the party. She would be unhappy if they hadn't so she moved around a bit more. Her dress, fit tightly unto her body and made it a bit more difficult just to be frolicking about. She gave up, much to her disappointment as she remembered her health was to be taken care about as well. The infanta moved, looking at a few of the tables once she saw a familiar face. It couldn't be, could it? The sad expression on her face turned into a large grin once she saw her father.

His eyes, weren't purple like hers, instead they were a beautiful hazel. They had the same hair color though. Her father looked handsome though aged. His hair was gelled back, and looked smooth. He was wearing an expensive dress coat. It was black, and shaped more of like a tuxedo though longer. Inside his pocket, a chain hung loose till it reached the outside. A pocket watch given by her mother, her original one. As she moved closer to him, he seemed to see her at the same time. A smile popped up on his face and he excused himself from the person he had been talking to.

"Brielle!" He exclaimed, pulling his daughter into an embrace. She smiled happily, as father and daughter were reunited. It felt good to be like this, in safe arms instead of a total stranger's. Her father was high in nobility, being a duke. The infanta though couldn't believe he was here. Her father usually didn't attend social parties. "I see you're wearing the gown. Beatrice surely did a good job of having one designed." Of course, her step mother picked it out. She was a fine lady of taste, but sometimes Brielle wasn't sure if she was simply being used.

"Of course father, I couldn't let a gown like this simply rot in the closet, could I?" She joked around. Her father grinned as he let her go from the hug. She had her arm in his now, and she was glad. She scoped the room wondering where her step mother was. She was looking for the familiar features, beautiful curly red hair and enchanting topaz like eyes. Her efforts were in vain, however. "Father, where is mother, anyways?" She asked him, with a sigh.

"Oh right, Beatrice." She noticed that he scratched his head in confusion. She wondered if her own patriarch had forgotten where her step mother was. She smiled softly, suddenly noticing he wasn't so perfect after all. They all made mistakes and her father was making a big one at the moment. It was usually supposed to be that they would be reunited and the children were seated together. "That's right, she was here somewhere discussing with a friend of hers."

Brielle nodded as the two walked around some more. Other people were conversing and most were dancing to the sweet hum of music. The Duke Byron looked at his daughter. He then walked them over to a table where another girl was sitting. She noticed the girl had dark hair and the most beautiful blueish grey eyes. She looked familiar as though she had seen her somewhere.

"Brielle, this is your cousin, Cadence. Cadence, this is my daughter, Brielle." And with that her father left her standing awkwardly near a relative.

a golden cup
and a toast to the kings

Her gaze was ever drifting at the attendants of this party, and she started to feel a bit claustrophobic. Then to her surprise, she caught a glance of a familiar face. She would have had to make a double take, if she wasn’t so sure it was her. The Elven woman she had met only recently made her way through the crowd to greet Cadence. She curtsied, bringing a smile to the frail girl’s face. She had said something about the party, but she couldn’t quite hear. Then just as quickly as she had appeared before her, she disappeared into the crowd again. Oh, how she wished she had stayed just awhile longer. All these unfamiliar faces in a place she should call home – all the people seemed to bother her a bit. This was especially since she couldn’t seem to find her parents again, and she was sitting all alone at a vacant table.

Suddenly, her trance was interrupted by a slightly familiar voice. She looked up, only to catch glimpse of the man she grew to call her uncle over the years. It was her godfather, Duke Byron. She hadn’t seen the man since she was a small child and he only seemed so much different now. Her smile returned, as he introduced her to his daughter. She looked around the same age as herself, though maybe a bit elder. This cousin of hers was absolutely beautiful – her golden locks, violet eyes, flawless skin, and outstanding dress. The girl had definitely grown since she had last seen her, or from what little she could remember. “It’s a pleasure to see you again, Brielle.” It had certainly been a very long time, but due to her amazing memory, she still retained images of moments when they were both children. Although not many, they were memories she hadn’t forgotten just yet.

Duke Byron left the two alone, together. It was a bit awkward at first, but it was definitely nice to have the company of a familiar face. Her arm stretched out, gesturing for Brielle to sit down. “You are welcome to take a seat… It’s certainly pleasant for our feet.” She giggled halfheartedly, amusing herself with the fact that her heels were killing her feet from all the walking, even if they weren’t too high. She could only imagine how uncomfortable it was for Brielle, and therefore offered her a chair to sit down. It had been too long, and she was tempted to ask her so many questions. But she kept herself composed, and awaited her response first. She couldn’t even be entirely sure that Brielle would recognize her after so many years, but she hoped nonetheless…

The Autumnal promenade.... begins~ Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Autumnal promenade.... begins~   The Autumnal promenade.... begins~ I_icon_minitimeSun Sep 26, 2010 6:44 pm

A voice that was a bit louder than everyone else's made Rodyn jump with a sudden start. It wasn't so much that it was loud, but it was a voice that actually sounded like it was happy.

"Brielle!"

Turning towards the sound of the voice, Rodyn's eyes were greeted with the vision of an older gentleman with a look of pure bliss on his face, holding in his arms a younger female. He smiled as the two backed from each other, recognizing the relationship of father and daughter between the two people, and also at the fact that this same Brielle was the girl he had met a while ago on a return trip to this city.

Rodyn couldn't lie, it was a relief to see someone he actually knew at this party, and was also stunned. He wanted to approach her, someone he knew. To him, this environment gave him a feeling of claustrophobia, and the way people talked to each other was all very strange to him. He had seen many a foreign land, but the way people falsely complimented each other always gave him pause.

Getting up from the wall he was leaning on, he decided he'd make his way over to Brielle anyways, at the risk of incurring the girl's father's wrath at a strange man talking to his beloved daughter. He seemed to care a great deal for his little girl, but Rodyn was only judging this from the way the two greeted one another.

As he made his way over to the pair, a sudden crowd of people got in his way, blocking his direct path to them. Trying to make his way though the people, he pardoned and excused himself through the wave, trying his hardest not to just jump over everyone to make his way to his destination. By the time he made his way through, the two had already moved on, and to where, Rodyn had no idea.

He stood still for a while, not noticing he was gathering looks from a specific group, who were looking at him suspiciously. Finally spotting Brielle, he noticed she was with more people now, and he knew for sure he shouldn't be interrupting them at all. For a while, it was a fairly large group, and what looked to be people greeting and introducing each other. Taking in a deep breath, Rodyn made his way over to the people once he noticed the majority of the older folks stepped aside.

What he approached were the three girls, who looked almost as lost and confused as he was in this place.

"Uh.. heh. Hey there, Brielle." He stood there with an awkward look on his face, as if he weren't sure of how to proceed after greeting her.

PostSubject: Re: The Autumnal promenade.... begins~   The Autumnal promenade.... begins~ I_icon_minitimeMon Sep 27, 2010 12:49 am

Hearing Rumors of a Formal ball in the royal Castle in Kreine, Ryou decided he might take a look. The early day started with his natural and normal vigorous training, fighting against others in small duel's, doing routine runs and workouts. Normally he wouldn't dress so well for such occasions as he wouldn't either attend let alone even think of it, but hearing that there were going to be, royalty attending he knew there was going to be a large supply of fresh meat and fruits so his natural instinct for food came rushing through. Though not much of a fancy dresser, Ryou decided that he would go in nothing more then his usual black Kimono. Living near the back of the city towards the city gates, it did take some time for Ryou to reach the castle, though he made sure he had his invitation with him knowing full well that the guards would be checking just in-case, as the castle was normally, not open for just anyone.

After reaching the castle Ryou handed the guard his invitation allowing him access into the Hall. Stepping through the grand doors seeing the dancing people Ryou knew he'd be having fun tonight, the crowd of people, women, children, men, all cheerful and dancing to the sounds of music. Not often would Ryou be in such high spirits, but then again not often would he be invited to a castle ball. His eyes flickering around the room constantly searching for a dance partner, though in his current state, tattoo's and all, he didn't have much of a chance of finding one. Of course, what woman would want to dance with a male who has Wolf ears on his head.

Not wanting to be noticed by the crowds as he knew he’d stand out, Ryou took his careful movements and stepped aside heading towards a small quiet spot across the hall. It wasn’t long before his eyes caught onto a beautiful young elvish woman sitting alone not far from him, her golden blond hair and Silvery colored eyes drawing him in. She looked beautiful and it was the only way he could explain it without becoming an animal and giving a childish howl. Knowing his chances with the woman were slim, Ryou kept his distance from her, not wanting to disturb her in case she was waiting for her dance partner to show, though he knew in all honesty that he wouldn’t be able to wait long to ask her.

The music was perfect, the setting for the ball was even better. The large tables, the food, the crowd, all of it made perfect company. Even some royalty were attending, some, of which he had heard about, some of which he hadn’t until now. The names of children being called out, the voices of people having conversations, one over the other reminded him of the town outside. The lovely people and all of the calm and gentle spirited people in it. Ryou knew that he’d waited long enough to dance, standing to his feet he stepped over to the young elf, extending his hand to her with a gentle smile chuckling softly at her beauty.

“Would you care to dance? Honestly speaking I’ve no idea why I am asking you. Obviously a woman of your beauty must already have a dance partner, but I thought it’d be worth a shot to ask you. So. Will you do the honor of dancing with me?” he said with a gentle blush across his face barely even knowing what he was doing, He’d only ever danced a few times before in his life as he was more of an observer then a person who did anything like so. The cool air against his hand coming in from the open door, his hair shifty softly with a tiny breeze coming from the open windows of the hall, the blush still light on his cheeks. ‘God I hope I know what I’m doing otherwise I’m going to look like such an idiot to this woman. What if I already do?!, Damn I forgot to introduce myself, I didn’t say please! I am so boned, there’s no way she’s going to say yes’ he thought to himself, only knowing what the probable outcome would be.

"It’s a pleasure to see you again, Brielle." Brielle blushed slightly as her cousin greeted her. It had been so long and those fantastic sea foam like blue-grey eyes brought her back to memories far away. They had been in the same condition probably during their birth years. She could remember the nursery they had been in, though it was nothing but a vague memory. Nurses, doctors, both had been tending to them. She smiled, the two year difference make barely a mark. She breathed out happily in relief, finally someone she at least knew slightly.

"Cadence, it's been a while, hasn't it?" She addressed jovially. They hadn't seen each other since they were nothing but children, and then she was as shy as she had been a few weeks ago, and that was terribly shy. She was sure to be a bit more extrovert and at least try to make social contact. She wouldn't agreed with herself back then for cowering behind her mother, in fear that the world was going to bite her. But at her current situation, she would now laugh at how silly and foolish she had been. Glancing at Cadence now, Brielle realized that she was still small and frail. She shared sympathy with the youth as she was in the same condition. Though she wasn't quite as small, she was just as frail as Cadence was and that built a slight bond between the two, at least on her side it did.

"You are welcome to take a seat… It’s certainly pleasant for our feet." Cadence proposed, and Brielle nodded politely as she did take the seat. She scoped the room, looking for where Cadence's parents were. She noticed that it would be quite rude to snob them or ignore them in a grand party such as this. It had been a while since a grand get together was formed and she reminded herself that she would have to thank Vergil for the opportunity later. Once the party would die down she took note that she would have to express grand gratitude to the king.

"And Cadence dear, where are your parents? I'd like to greet them later, it would be quite rude if I wouldn't welcome them in a moment. Perhaps it could wait but..." It wasn't like her to talk like this. Even though she tried to tell herself she wouldn't be shy now, it was against her character to babble. Perhaps Cadence made her nervous, was that it? Or maybe it was because there was a comfort between the two cousins that Brielle could somehow make herself open and attached to it. She felt as though even though the two hadn't seen each other in quite a few years, something was still there. She smiled politely with a slight flush, as she covered her face with the well detailed autumn colored handkerchief that she had in her hand. It was something she snagged before the party had started. Her head turned as someone had greeted her. The voice was familiar and she couldn't help but stare wide eyed at the figure.

"Uh.. heh. Hey there, Brielle." It couldn't be. Was that Rodyn? The man who had left her in town with Cassius a few moments before. He looked ravishing, handsome, and well...so attractive it almost sent her heart on fire if she hadn't been trained to resist. Brielle didn't sit there gawking or even staring, instead she formally stood up, a small smile plastered on her face. She refused for it to grow any bigger in hopes that she didn't show how eager she was on her expression. She turned to face Rodyn, then Cadence, then Rodyn again.

"Rodyn, could that be you? You look extremely striking." She complemented, in a lady-like way. She hoped she hadn't sounded off. She then turned to Cadence, the same warm expression promised unto her face. "Cadence, this is a good acquaintance of mine. Meet Rodyn. Rodyn, this is my cousin, Cadence." She introduced the two, feeling warmer now that she had more people to interact with. And the good thing was, they didn't make her as awkward as the other folks did.

She runs in her dress shoes and then finally stopped. Karisa looked at the door and walked in princess like and entered. ''Welcome Miss.'' the door guard said politely. Karisa tipped her head down and smiled. The old guard looked at her funny and made a thoughtful face. Karisa wondered but then continued on her way. She saw people with many jewels and plumped up dresses. Men in suits and some weren't even human. She didn't mind though but she had a funny feeling about being here. ''I wonder why I feel so funny. I'll just go to the table with treats. I haven't ate since I left the last place.'' She said while walking towards it. She dusted off her dress and sighed as she looked around takeing a bit out of some cheesecake. She loved food and liked to bake and cook them aswell. Karisa organized the butterfly pendent that her mother gave her when she was a baby. She loved it and thought it looked nice in her hair. Karisa's hair laied on her shoulder and covered some of her chest. It was shiney as ever and the purple gleamed as the lights shined apon it. Her purple amethyst eyes wondered around to look at people that she didn't know. Karisa then spotted a chair and decided to sit as she wondered on what to do and whom she should talk to. Her dress was well designed, it wasn't ball room material but it was a silk satin looking kimono. She sighed and thought some more and then out of know where she blanked out. She then woke up but not at the ball but the room was white and someone was standing in the middle of the room. Karisa didn't know if this was some type of room or was that person her concious. ''Beware on what you might find out.'' the old woman said. ''What are you talking about?'' Karisa said wondering. She then blanked out again and opened her beautiful eyes and saw that ball room. It was the way it was before she blanked out and no one saw her blanked out. ''Thank god...'' she whispered to herself. Karisa sighed as she thinks about what the old woman said to her and then looked at everyone danceing with a sweet lightful smile.

Autumn. Jacqueline's favorite season. So many warm colors spread across the lands. She could go on for hours just staring at the landscapes. Along with the beautiful scenery was The Autumnal Promenade or the Fall Ball, some would say. It was a special event being held at the Castle to celebrate the changing seasons. There was food, music, dancing, talking, and other forms of mingling. Jacqueline was certainly not an exception. There she was, standing at the very entrance of the ballroom with her mother and father. She was all dolled up just like the rest of the party-goers. Her usually pinned back curly black hair was let down, curling and twirling as it ended at her breasts, bangs framing around her heart-shaped face. Scarlet lipstick painted over her petite full lips, clashing exotically with her tan smooth skin. The only other make up present on her face was black mascara, making her eyelashes appear longer and darker.

Unlike majority of the female guests, Jacqueline did not wear the usual dresses they did. Her dress did not have petticoats, layers, frills, bows, designs, or a corset. It was a simple but elegant dress. Colored Bistre, a shade of brown and grey from soot, was that of her dress. Rather than puffed out, it gently hugged around her body, leaving a small train following her. The way the dress wrapped up towards her neck let just the slightest slit so she could show just the slightest bit of her athletic toned legs, which was her best and feature, in her opinion. Despite the dress being a halter neck and sleeveless, the young woman still possessed a very soft and warm shawl that dangled around her arms. It was becoming quite warm with everyone in the castle, anyways. Her dark brown sandals were low heeled, but still classified as appropriate for the evening. At least she was used to walking around for so long in all sorts of shoes. They said to dress your best and despite not being as attention-grabbing or overly-formal as the other women's dresses, she was sure she looked one of her very bests.

"Jackie, we're going to go sit down and have a bite to eat. Are you coming?" her father asked. The young woman found herself side-tracked, staring intently at the setting of the ballroom. She hadn't even heard her father. "Jackie?" her mother questioned, placing at hand on her daughter's shoulder. This caused Jacqueline to abruptly shake her head and almost jump slightly. "Sorry, what did you say? Everything just looks so lovely." she stated with a voice in complete trance. Her mother and father smiled and almost let out a laugh. "We're just going to go sit down and eat. Are you going to or do you have something else in mind?" her father repeated. A silent moment fell between the three. After tapping her chin in thought, she realized she was not hungry, yet. "No, I'm actually not all that hungry, yet. I'll catch up with you later." she replied, satisfying her parents, who then went off to enjoy the cuisines.

The young woman finally made her move. Jacqueline had heard of the open terras that looked over the King's large gardens from the chit-chattering of the party-goers. That's what was making her move. She just had to see it for herself. It was a must for the landscape-loving woman she was. She slinked and slid between the crowds and dancers, never once losing balance or her composure. A few men and women would give her a glance, some smiling and a tilt of the head, too. She always made sure to return the gesture. Reaching the left end of the ballroom, Jacqueline had hit one of the strongest sense of awestruck she had ever experienced. The gardens were simply breath taking. So many colors, patterns, and leaves. It was overflowing with life. The gardens were considerably more quieter compared to the actual dancing and dinning area. She didn't mind, though. Whether or not she was actually alone was beyond her knowledge for she was too busy yearning over the garden's looks. However, she reminded herself that possibility that someone might approach her. Once again, though... She didn't mind.

a golden cup
and a toast to the kings

Her dear cousin responded accordingly, remembering Cadence, even to her surprise. Maybe there were bonds there that just never grew old. Regardless, she smiled happily at the thought. It wasn’t long after that she asked her where her parents were, and this she even wondered. Her eyes searched around the room, hoping to catch a glimpse of them at least. Even if Brielle wouldn’t get to greet them as soon as she had hoped, Cadence still wanted to know where they might be – I was something that nagged at the back of her mind. She couldn’t help but feel a little anxious being without them, considering she didn’t leave the house much at all anymore.

Before she could honestly tell her she wasn’t sure of her parents’ whereabouts, a ravishing young man called her name. A sly smile pursed upon her lips, as Brielle continued to say that he was a good acquaintance of hers. “A pleasure to meet you, Rodyn.” She continued to examine him, her smile still. Cadence couldn’t help but wonder if he was more than just an ‘acquaintance’ to cousin Brielle, but kept her mouth shut. She was always the overly curious child, but she knew when to keep her thoughts to herself. “Well, you two look just lovely.” She commented, to keep her words from astray. They honestly looked absolutely amazing, even side by side. She was caught again in her thoughts, as she staggered back to her conversation with Brielle. Just where were her parents? “I’m going to go look for my parents. Sorry to leave you, I’ll try and catch up with you both later.” A sincere smile took to her expression, with a slightly saddened look in her eyes. She stood from her seat, and bowed her head ever so slightly to both.

As she wandered off into the crowd, she looked around liked a scared puppy who lost its way – it was pathetic how misplaced she felt without her parents. It just couldn’t be helped, as her anxiety grew…

[ Sorry for the extremely short, and delayed post. Kinda busy with some stuff, but I didn’t wanna hold the topic up. I'm also thinking about extending the time of this party, for you guys. ]

(That's fine. Extending it a bit would be nice, too. Up to you, though. I like the idea of it being extended, though.)

Putting on a big smile, he waved to Cadence. "It's great to meet you, Cadence!" He seemed to catch himself though, figuring that wasn't the best way to greet someone in this instance. Chuckling nervously, he brought his hand behind his head, rubbing the back of it.

"Heh.. heh, sorry about that. I'm just a bit nervous, is all. Not used to coming to functions like this..."

He drifted off, looking to the crowd. His head shot back when Cadence made the comment that they looked good together, making him wonder what she meant by it. He smiled nervously, and nodded.

"Well, Brielle certainly does looks beautiful tonight." He put his hand on top of Brielle's head, shaking her gently, not trying to daze her or ruin her hair. He quickly pulled back his hand though, feeling her hair. He didn't have his hand wrappings on, so it felt strange to feel someone after such a long time.

As Cadence left, he started calling off after her, but she seemed determined to leave the two of them on their own. Sighing and shrugging, he turned back to Brielle, smiling at her.

"Your cousin, hmn? She seemed like a nice enough girl. Will she be okay on her own? Anyways uhm.. I need to apologize. For when we last saw each other? Sorry about leaving you like that. I wanted to go check on the kid, and to be honest, Cassius made me kind of nervous. I should've said bye, though. Forgive me?"

He stepped back a bit from her, lowering his head. He felt bad about just leaving her before - and was surprised that he even ran into her again. He figured it was one of those life moments where you meet someone and just never get in touch with them again. He wasn't the kind of man that believe in coincidences, either.

Still, right now, the only thing he wanted to hear was that she forgave him. She looked gorgeous tonight, and he didn't need to embarrassment of being rejected anything by someone who looked so good tonight.

"Well, you two look just lovely." Cadence complimented, and Brielle could feel her cheeks heating up, causing them to flush and turn slightly red. The blush that was stroked on seemed to blend in well with the natural blush and she hoped she didn't look like anything close to a Tomato or some other red object. People expected her to be used to compliments and she certainly wasn't. Though she was Brielle Meldacaniel, born and raised in Kreine to servants who complimented her every move, she still wasn't used to it. She smiled, thanking Cadence for the nice thing she said about the both of them.

"Well, Brielle certainly does looks beautiful tonight." Rodyn said, as his hand sat on top of her head, shuddering her lightly. This made Brielle flush even harder, though her face returned to their normal pale color. She felt his hand pull back, feeling her hair. She could feel his fingers stroking them and light strands flew slightly backwards. It was a nice feeling, though it was a bit awkward. She never had it like this, to have her hair stroked or felt by a person she had only known for a day. She liked it, and felt that she could be a bit more open to him. She figured it could be a struggle for her, but she knew she could get through it.

"Why, thank you." She spoke softly, expressing her gratitude towards the man who she had become a bit close to a few periods before the Promenade. She certainly couldn't believe how striking he looked underneath all his layers, underneath all the piles of clothes that were laid on him, building up bulk. She thought he looked stunning, like a prince of somewhere.

I’m going to go look for my parents. Sorry to leave you, I’ll try and catch up with you both later.” A slight smile appeared on Cadence's face, though sorrow was hinted in her eyes. Brielle watched as her cousin bowed before them, and she returned with a slight curtsy, before turning back to Rodyn. She wondered why her cousin was looking for her parents though the party was still young. Usually children of their age weren't like this. But Brielle had to admit, at Cadence's age she was extremely shy as well and fluttered the peculiar feeling away till a sense of understanding replaced it. She smiled dearly as she watched her cousin disappear into the crowd.

Forgive me?" He didn't have to apologize like this, everything was understandable. She remembered thinking about having a guard search for him just to make sure he was all right, but then forgot about it during her sick process. She had been feeling ill that day and though she was still a bit sick today, she had took her medication to ensure her that she would be all right. She didn't mind that he had left, and he left for a good cause. Cassius would probably intimidate anyone because of his appearance.

"It's all right, I understand." Brielle said, smiling softly at her friend. Her vivid violet eyes gazed into his amber like ones. That's when the music died down and a new song started softly. More people were getting on the dance floor and she caught an idea. Since they did have a dance before, and it wasn't much formal anyways, she figured they could make it up by dancing here tonight. She decided to continue speaking. A slight reddening on her cheeks appeared again before she even spoke a word.

"But I'll only truly forgive you if you make it up for me, by dancing with me again, tonight."

Rodyn nodded, glad that Brielle understood why he acted in the manner he did. He smiled, happy that they were still in good standings with each other. In honest truth, Rodyn did make a lot of friends in his travels. Yet it hurt him every time he made some sort of mistake to cause harm to a friend, especially with the way his nature was.

Stepping back to allow people to pass around Brielle and him, he watched as others went towards the dance floor, smiles all plastered on their faces. It certainly all looked fun, and the music was enjoyable, as well. Rodyn found it hard to believe that the king could throw such a party. It amazed him, in fact. He had a low opinion of the man, but he had never met him or even seen much of him. His bias feelings were based on the many troubles and problems that he saw around the lands. It was an immature thought, but it had been the reason he had run away from his home in the first place.

Turning back to Brielle, he smiled warmly as they looked at each other. It was then she asked for another dance, and he let out a small laugh.

"Ah, so the violet-eyed princess wishes for anther dance with the prince of Landyland, hmn? Huh..wait.. that was the kingdom I said I was from before, right? Ah, who cares."

Grasping his right hand gently over hers, he pulled her along to the dance floor, sure that the smile on his face looked exactly like the people he had seen walk before him as they made their way to the dance floor.

When they reached an open spot, he let go of her hand momentarily, stepped back, and bowed slightly before her. Still bowing down, he lifted his right hand towards her with his palm open.

"May I have this dance, Brielle?"

Waiting for her hand, he once more pulled her into a position for dancing, waiting for a moment for her to confirm she was ready. When she did, he began to dance similar to those around him, filled with twirls, dips, and giant side steps. They danced like they did before, except in a smaller area. He kept his rhythm this time, however, and made sure not to make her look like a fool by dancing seriously instead of a playful manner.

They danced like that, for what seemed to be forever, when it was only a few minutes. When the song ended, he let go of her hand once again, and stepped back, bowing down before her again.

"Am I forgiven yet?"

Twirling skirts and light stepping movement resulted in a kind of color melding that only those familiar with parties such as these can describe. Humans dancing though, lacked the grace required to really stimulate the senses. Nature and the senses overflow during those celebrations. So much that normal humans would go mad from the powerful siren song and overflowing magical energy. This sort of thing was nice, but got boring after a short time with no companion. Just in time, Ariel noticed that a man was moving toward her, but unlike the other men he seemed to move with more purpose, more agility. That coupled with his feral ears and features proved that he was no human at all.

His hand extended slowly to the elf, an offer that seemed to be purely for the sake of having fun at the dance. His compliment was rather filled with a sense of self doubt, but the compliment was nice. His features were more animalistic than the humans and elves, so he looked in the very sense of the word, different. That was not completely a bad thing, and in fact, he was quite attractive, though not something Ariel would through caution to the wind and jump up for him. His eyes though, were something else. The colors that made them up were vibrant, and the feral eye had something deep behind it. These interested Ariel enough that she decided to accept his offer of a dance.

She slowly extended her own hand and placed it into his. His self confidence was still lacking somewhat in the dancing and women department. Such could be seen though his look and overall demeanor at the moment. Her burnt orange dress trailed slightly behind her as Ariel moved through the small crowd, two of her fingers gripping one of his tightly enough to remain a line to her, but not enough to really notice more than a touch. Her agile movements resulted in them being in the perfect place, just enough room to really move and enjoy the music.

Turning to him, Ariel spoke her first words to him, "Follow my lead." The music hung in the air for a second, and on the beat, Ariel started her dance, getting closer to him and moving gracefully to the rhythm. His reflexes should be better than a human, so maybe he could keep up with the fluid, beautiful movements of his elven counterpart. Either way, the dance would definitely draw attention. A man with wolf ears and a bright blond elf with very distinguishable ears herself would draw the eyes of everyone in the area.

PostSubject: Re: The Autumnal promenade.... begins~   The Autumnal promenade.... begins~ I_icon_minitimeFri Oct 01, 2010 11:57 pm

Cassius entered the event in an unorthodox fashion--not through the main entrance. For one who holds a decent amount of respect among the soldiers of Kreine, the knight is not fond of any sort of light, whether it be spot or lime. He knows that sometimes, when royalty throw parties, those that enter are announced so that the guests already present know who is in attendance. Cassius would like to avoid such public displays as he ended up coming through one of the entries for the servants and guards, despite the fact that he was not attending this event as either. Cassius was coming to this event of his volition, but more so out of respect than anything else; he did not want to inadvertently offend the King or anyone else by not showing up to such a grand event.

Stepping into the main area and attempting to actively keep his distance from the dance floor, Cassius stood a few inches over six feet and his weight looked healthy on him, like he was built sturdy and engaged in intense exercise every day, if not every other day. The majority of his slightly lengthy off-white hair was tied in a ponytail behind his head, while a few bangs that were too short to be tied off hung on the sides, framing his face somewhat. His light hazel eyes had a bit of a hardened look as they darted around to see who all was here. Anyone looking at Cassius would think that perhaps his visit to this ball was more for business than pleasure, but that might just be because Cassius doesn't really enjoy such functions as much as he should.

Cass' outfit tonight consisted of something that was given to him as a gift, usually his outfit of choice when attending such functions. It was a simple yet elegant tunic, made from a soft black material with gold paisley patterns twisting all around, trimmed in the same gold pattern. A black belt with a gold buckle adorned his waist and held his tunic down while giving his upper and lower body a distinct separation. For the rest of his attire, he wore plain well-fitting black pants and black boots. Despite the material that he wore being of a high thread count, Cassius felt uncomfortable wearing it; he'd rather be wearing his everyday clothing while training some new recruits. Speaking of training, to make matters worse, Cassius did not bring his sword along with him. That was intentional, knowing that he probably would not be able to enter the establishment as a guest with his weapon.

One would never say that Cassius was impolite; he shook hands with the gentlemen who approached him and bowed to the ladies, but he did not actively seek out anyone save for the King. He probably wouldn't approach the King, but just to know where the head of the party is could be extremely important. For the majority of the party, he was content to stay an onlooker with his hands held behind his back, making nice with everyone that he encountered.

"Ah, so the violet-eyed princess wishes for anther dance with the prince of Landyland, hmn? Huh..wait.. that was the kingdom I said I was from before, right? Ah, who cares." With this she was brought unto the dance floor, people of elegance were here as well. She blushed slightly as Rodyn bowed before her, returning with the suitable curtsy. She was nervous as she felt as though she was being watched, indeed she was as her parents were dancing right behind her. This was quite alarming but at the time being she didn't care. She crossed out the alarm feeling as soon as Rodyn spoke yet again.

"May I have this dance, Brielle?" She smiled nodding as they were in position. She was trained to dance like this as members of the noble class were usually. She wasn't nervous at all once it came to formal dancing though she was kind of anxious to see if he would dance seriously this time. Once they started, Brielle smiled during the dance. It was a beautiful series of twirls, lifts, and dips. The series of dance steps were in an organized order, much less than what happened the days before.

"Am I forgiven yet?" Rodyn asked, and she thought that it was silly he still had to. He was definitely forgiven of course, though she thought it was a bit cute that he still did ask. She nodded, a soft smile on her face as she did so. The dance was great, much better than what she had expected. She had dance partners before, but not one with this much friendliness and chemistry to actually put a bond through the dance. This one had been filled with life.

"But of course, you are." She told Rodyn, right after she had nodded. The smile was still held in place, beautiful in description.

The Autumnal promenade.... begins~ Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Autumnal promenade.... begins~   The Autumnal promenade.... begins~ I_icon_minitimeSun Oct 03, 2010 10:53 am

It had gotten quite late, and the clock had been ticking on and on while Vergil rested on his bed. Thinking that it couldnt hurt if he went out of his room and join the party, he got out of his dirty clothing and took a quick bath. Wondering what he should do, he made up his mind, he was going to go downstairs to join the party. Though he did not know why, he again had the feeling that he had other things to do. Quickly dressing up in a black suit, he went to his study. Searching through the files he had gotten his hands on earlier this week. "If this would work, i will become the king of this world" He spoke softly with a small grin on his face. Putting on his black leather boots, he went towards the party in the ballroom. As he opened the door, quite some faces turned to him. Walking into the room, he was approached by a few man, some old friends of his father, others where business partners of his. After shaking hands, he walked onward to the throne, wich was on the far end of the dining table.

Putting on his smile, he started discussing with the royalty on the table. Discussing things like how he was doing now that his parents where gone, and how he planned to rule the kingdom nowadays. Getting tired of talking, he started eating his fill. The beef he had gotten from one of his business partners was worth what he had to pay for it. Seeing that quite some people had made it to the ball, it was both good to know that stuff like that worked, aswell as it was most likely going to be hard to get all those people out when the party ended. Hoping to have earned the trust of the people who had been here today, he did nothing other then rest in his throne, watching over the people in the ballroom with the eyes of a hawk.

As he kept his eyes on the crowd, he caught sight of the girl whom he had taken into his house. "Brielle Evangeline Mabel Meldacaniel" he said with a low tone of voice. It was good to see that one of the inhabitants of the Kreine castle had been at the party early, something he should have done. Standing up, he saw that she was dancing with someone that he did not know, nor did he ever see him before in his entire life. The man looked older then he was. Another thing he noticed was that this man was not dressed like most other people. Walking over to them in a steady pace, he stood next to them in a matter of seconds. Standing on the side of the dancing part of the room, he awaited the moment that one of the two would notice him. When that happened, he walked over to them, not minding all the other dancing couples. "Hello there, are you enjoying my party".

"Hah! I knew I could dance well enough.. Glad you enjoyed yourself. I'm just apologizing so much because I feel bad for just leaving you, is all. Looks like that knight took care of you, though.. Cassius was his name? I wonder if he's here, I have to thank him for that."

Grasping Brielle's hand once more, he was about to lead them to a different spot, seeing as more people were getting off the dance floor, when he noticed someone walking up to them. He wasn't sure if he was walking to them, but he did notice that he seemed to have his eyes fixated on Brielle when Rodyn looked over at him. Standing still, he wondered if this person was someone Brielle knew.. some sort of family?

When asked if they were enjoying the party, Rodyn took a step back, surprised that it was the king. Why had he made his way here? It confused him, and he looked to Brielle for only a moment, trying to gauge her reaction to all of this. Nodding his head down for a moment, he decided it would be better to show the king the proper respect in this place. This was his castle, and he was surrounded by the king's subjects. It wouldn't do well for either him or Brielle if he showed any disrespect towards the king. He let go of Brielle's hand, and bowed down before the king, getting down to his knee as he did so.

"Forgive me if I address you wrong in anyway, your majesty. I am not used to addressing a person of such high status as yourself. Your party has been magnificent so far, I might add, though. You've outdone yourself with such a... grand gathering." Getting up from off of his knee, he raised his head so that he were facing the king once more. It was a lie, Rodyn had dealt with royalty before. Just not anyone within the human kingdom.

Why is he here? Does he know I've no love for his kingdom? No, there's no way he'd know anything like that. The only thing I've ever done is help people out, he shouldn't have a care for that. Then.. why?

"Hello there, are you enjoying my party?" Brielle was delighted to see the King, Vergil, her own caretaker greet them. She felt pretty important to have someone of great respects greet her at all times like this. Perhaps it was due to the significant royal bond they both held. Or perhaps it was just because he was bored. Either way, he made an effort to walk over to them just to ask them a simple question. Or maybe he had something to say to her, regarding her parents perhaps? Or perhaps he wanted to see her parents and wanted to ask her where they are. Before Brielle could answer him, Rodyn cut her off.

"Forgive me if I address you wrong in anyway, your majesty. I am not used to addressing a person of such high status as yourself. Your party has been magnificent so far, I might add, though. You've outdone yourself with such a... grand gathering." Rodyn was acting formal, which was odd to see. She had never seen him like this before, even with Cassius. But perhaps since the King was much on a higher level than Cassius, Rodyn had allowed himself to lower his pride. Brielle smiled, finally seeing that Rodyn did have an air of respect in his values. Even if he didn't truly mean it, at least she could see him trying to show his respectful side. She wasn't sure if he was intimidated or scared, but it was her turn to reply. Wasting no time, she did.

"Indeed we are, Sire." She said, a genuine smile appearing on her face. "The party is splendid. I absolutely love the interior design. The Macadamia nuts were a great addition to the catering." She said, complimenting on how grand the ballroom had been. When it was empty it looked just like an ordinary ballroom, though grand in the way it had its antique spice. But with this liveness going on, it was indeed not just a ballroom but a room filled with splendor. "I also love the way my room had been refurnished, though I'm not sure if you had it planned or father did. Either way, it looks amazing." She did have to thank either one of them and she wasn't sure her parents cared enough to how her room looked. She knew her mother did back home, but her mother was long gone. Her step-mother refurnished her room monthly as well but perhaps that was on the order of her father.

"Oh yes, your majesty, this is Rodyn. He is a good acquaintance of mine. We met a few days earlier." She introduced Rodyn, wondering if the lad was too shy to introduce himself. "If you wouldn't mind me asking, your excellency, are you looking for my parents?" Being part of royalty was rather confusing. As the higher ranks didn't really want to interact with those of the lower ranks, an infanta of herself, they didn't know whether they were looking for someone else. Since her parents were rather high in rank, the Duke and Duchess no doubt, she had been wondering if he was looking for them. Since the King was technically her cousin, Brielle wondered why she had never seen him in her childhood memories.

"Forgive me if I address you wrong in anyway, your majesty. I am not used to addressing a person of such high status as yourself. Your party has been magnificent so far, I might add, though. You've outdone yourself with such a... grand gathering." The unknown man said to him. Looking into the man's eyes for a moment, his sight went back to Brielle. He did not care much for this man, so he figured that he would only be wasting his time by talking to him. "Indeed we are, Sire. The party is splendid. I absolutely love the interior design. The Macadamia nuts were a great addition to the catering." Brielle said.

"Thats great to hear, i might be needing to go for this again when i trow another party in the future. The Macademia seeds have been imported last year, so these are still pretty young, since they where harvested this week" Vergil explained. It was funny that his cousin was the only one this far that had noticed the Macademia nuts. Most people would think they where regular nuts, but it was a rare delicacy only the royalty knew of, so he didnt blame them.

"I also love the way my room had been refurnished, though I'm not sure if you had it planned or father did. Either way, it looks amazing." The girl told him. Looking around him for a moment, he saw a man in a lab coat signaling him. Simply nodding to the girl as if he had heard it, while he actually didnt. As the man in the lab coat dissappeared, Vergil planned to follow the man soon. Trying to round up his socialities, his mind turned back to the couple infront of him. "Oh yes, your majesty, this is Rodyn. He is a good acquaintance of mine. We met a few days earlier.".

"Hello Rodyn, i hope you will take care of this girl in my absence" Vergil said with a little smile, though it was a somewhat forced smile. Having no more time to waste, he looked around him before petting the girl on the head. While removing his hand, he nodded at her and walked over to Rodyn. Placing one hand on his shoulder, he turned his head to the side of Rodyn's ear. "We will be seeing more of eachother" Vergil said while releasing his grip on the man's shoulder. Slowly walking of the stage, he followed the man in the lab coat. As he closed the door, he nodded at Rodyn and Brielle as if he was wishing them a good time.

As the door closed, the man in the lab coat quickly stepped around the corner with a stressfull look on his face. "My lord, we have a problem with Project R. He seems to have overpowered the cell guard and escaped through the sewers. When the guard woke up, he nearly bit one of our scientists, but he was sedated and locked up in a seperate cell for analyzis. This could only mean that the R01-virus had infected the guard when Project R overpowered it. We are currently pursueing it, and it would seem that it followed the sewer's to the open water, and from there on ended up in Tola. We have the entire town in complete quarantine, and are about to launch an assualt on the zombified villagers". After hearing Solstice out, everything fell quiet for a moment.

"I guess we will need to get a team of specialists to deal with those zombies. I want Project R back in it's cage. He was a vital piece in our investigation, and we cannot allow it to ravage through a small town. I will immidiatly get a few men who can take care of him"Vergil said while turning around and going back inside. "You should get yourself and some extra guards to make sure that those zombies and Project R do not escape, did i make myself clear" Vergil said with a quite angry tone of voice.

As he entered the room again, he stepped towards the throne and slammed his fist on the table to get everyone's attention. "Everyone, please lend me your ears for a moment. I need every capable fighter to step up and follow me to the hall. There seems to be some sort of disaster wich is destroying the Harbor village called "Tola". I need some men to investigate and take care of any possible threats. I will explain the details in the hallway, so i would advice the strong among you to come with me" Vergil said while walking out of the door and into the hall, where he would wait for any possible adventurer to follow him.

PostSubject: Re: The Autumnal promenade.... begins~   The Autumnal promenade.... begins~ I_icon_minitimeMon Oct 04, 2010 12:41 pm

Ryou smiled at the girl, giving a softly gentle nod before being pulled into the middle of the dance floor. He knew he wasn't much use to dancing as he'd never really done it before, but he knew a few bits and pieces of ball-room dancing as he use to practice it as a child sometimes with several people he knew while growing up in Kreine, just for occasions like the one he was currently in. Ryou blushed lightly smiling at the woman, her beauty was like none other he had ever seen in his life, far more then any other elven woman in the country. The sudden feel of the eyes upon him and his dance partner made him slightly nervous as he wasn't use to much attention, as he would try to avoid it at all possible costs.

Ryou gave a softly, almost inaudible groan as the people stood staring at him and the elvish woman, he hated people looking at him, made him feel like a freak. But of course he was, a man with wolf ears is quiet odd, even in this society. 'Tch, damn people, look at them all. Staring at me like I'm some kind of freak. haven't you ever seen a Familiar before!? God get over it!. Your all a bunch monsters anyway. Out-casting those who don't fit in to your society. Your all a disgrace' He though to himself before looking back at the elvish woman chuckling lightly. His hand slid down her rib slowly, resting against her hip as he pulled her in close, his chest against hers as he entwined his fingers with hers, slipping her arm against his shoulder nodding at her. "I think it's best, if we just see how this dance goes. Might need to kick up a fast pace, maybe a slow one. Who knows, lets just pray its nothing too fancy huh?" he said chuckling softly waiting for the beginning of the music.

The woman smelt beautiful, her scent was like an old oak tree fresh from the winter's cold embrace, still strong and pure. Ryou could almost smell the snow itself, the cool frozen ice on the water, and the small scent of blossoms in the air. She was perfect, her hair, her eyes, even her smell was like a warm embrace, welcoming and completely harmless. Or so it seemed. His black kimono, tended and decorated in celebratory fashion with red tinting and markings. The marks on his face, drawing attention from several people in the crowd, some whispering and mocking him knowing just what he was, some seeming, afraid of what he was, and some just being normal gossips. To be honest to himself he didn't care. Sure he was the odd one out in the crowd, most likely the only wolf eared male in the entire castle at the time, but he still didn't care, he'd taken his chances with the woman he became attracted to, and braved up to her, and so far, things were looking really good.

Ryou chuckled lightly looking over the woman's shoulder at the band beginning to set up all kinds of odd instruments, some of which he didn't recognize at all as he hadn't been privileged with royal community as he was one who lived in the slums. Ryou was honestly surprised at the woman that had taken his hand, she didn't know him, and he didn't know her. Yet he had a sort of instant trust in her, all he had to do now, was find out her name, and hopefully find out another time to meet her after the Promenade was over.

A sigh came from her mouth as she still sits on a chair alone. Karisa didn't except much but still. She didn't regonize anyone here...but then he looked at someone that was known as the king. He looked so familiar but she didn't know who he was. It was as if her mind was blocking her memories. Karisa got up and patted down her goddess looking dress and straightened it. She started to walk and sighed. Karisa walked to the food court and sadly eats some cheesecake, it was one of her favorites. She then still looked at the so called King and smiled a lil. He was charming a little, even though she dislike charming. She shook her head and looked at the lights. The lights reflected her beautiful purple silky hair. Her eyes gleaming like purple jewels and her hot dark red lips glossy as ever.
Her image in her head started to blur and so did her vision as she tried to think about where and who the king reminded her of and where she saw him. Karisa then sat down and wondered what she should do now. Being alone and not danceing and all is no fun of course and Karisa wanted to do something.

''Where have I met him before...and what should I do now..?'' Karisa says to herself before she sighs.

Karisa walked around and no one noticed her walking as in no one talked to her and asked who she was. Her eyes went towards the man's eyes and thought more. For some reason a tear dropped from her left eye and then from the other as well. Karisa didn't know why...but it had to be some reason. She went looked at the door to exir and then sighed.

''Maybe I should leave...it's not like anyone knows me or notices that a stranger is here...all I am is an outsider...'' She said sadly and then walked to the door and stood by the corner of the exit door and sighed once more as her eyes turn blue from her mood changeing eyes.
